One long post

Oh wow..I'm so behind. Ill try to catch you up in a brief as possible post. I threw a baby shower for my best friend Rachel recently. She is due with a baby girl (Aubreigh) in early July.

Then, as soon as the shower was over, we left for our vacation. We had a nice week long trip to Myrtle Beach.

And lastly, my total weight loss hit 14 lbs this morning!!! Shocking, especially after a week of pure indulgence at the beach.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mothers Day. I sure did! Beautiful handmade card from Michael and the boys, didn't have to lift a finger all day, and all the kisses and hugs I wanted!

Saturday

Over the past year we have asked Dylan to change Hayden's diaper a few times..mainly just to see the reaction we would get. Generally it was a look of disgust, followed by a "I don't want to!". Well, he now has 3 diaper changes under his belt!

I am so proud of him, and the little boy he is.
The weather was so nice today that the boys spent most of the morning outside playing in the bubbles. I grabbed my camera a little late, and was only able to get one shot...but it was a cute one.
And with all the activities of the day, they were exhausted by 8 pm! Hayden zonked out on the couch.

A Good Lesson

As a parent, you are always trying to teach and enlighten your child. Sometime though, you have to wonder if they are really absorbing those things. Today Dylan showed me he had listened to something very important that his daddy had taught him. His "maw-maw" came for a visit, and they were chatting in the living room. He ran and grabbed his Bible. Its a small, old Bible that Michael has passed down to him for now.
He said to her "Look! Look at my Bible!" She smiled and looked at it. Then Dylan opened it up and said "It has lots of stories about God inside it...and those red letters, those are when God is really talking to us!"
Awww, it just melted my heart. If the child learns nothing more from us than to trust in Christ, then that will be good enough.

The good news is....

I'm back at 8 pounds lost! Woo hoo...go me.
Bad news is, I haven't exercised at all for a little over a week now. Bad me..I know! In my defense, it has been raining a lot...

Twins turn 17

Today we went to a birthday party to celebrate our twin niece's, Morgan & Melanie, turning 17! I just can not believe it. When I started dating Michael and first met them they were only 7. They have grown so much since then, and turned into wonderful young women. I remember back when I first met them I had so much trouble telling them apart, and now I look at them and don't understand why I had a tough time--because they are so different, in looks and personality. Anyways, back to the topic..their party.

Photo Op

I found a beautiful field near my house yesterday while driving home and said to Dylan "man, I would love to get a picture of you out there"...he replied "Okay, lets do it now!" I wasn't expecting that, but I eagerly complied....because, well, I love taking pictures.

Photo Shoot with Cousins

Today I was given the opportunity to do a photo shoot with my cousins, Tasha and Crystal. They were wanting some photos to give to their mom for Mothers Day.

Those a just a few of my favorite. Little Mister Dakota was so fun, too!

The boys loved getting to spend some time with him afterwards. Dakota and Hayden are only 6 months apart in age....kind of reminds me of his mother and I, who are only a few months apart also. Hopefully they will get to make some memories just like Tasha and I did.

Catching Up

Okay, so I know I'm behind in blogging world... and I'm sorry. Its been a crazy week...sick house, end of month craziness at work, running kids to and from, etc.

I didnt even post my weight loss this week because, honestly, I have been discouraged. I was up a pound this week, putting my total loss at 7 lbs. I have ate very well, but I didnt get to exercise this week at all--mainly because I over did it last week and pulled a muscle.. but, I am back on track now. People keep telling me the hault in weight loss is because I'm actually getting some muscles now...and I will admit I can feel muscles I haven't felt in years...but I don't think I have gained over a pound in muscles alone.
Below are a couple pictures I wanted to share. The first is a sight I see frequently in the summer...the boys enjoying popsicles on the front steps.

The second, is a sight I see daily...mainly because Hayden has proven himself to be a
"drama king"...

Boys will be boys...

His first black eye...or at least the remnants of one. It's been almost a week now, so its looking better... Poor guy was running as fast as he could, turned his head to look behind him and slammed into his grandpa's car.

Some say irony, I say God!

A little over a year ago my home was broke in to, and they stole alot of stuff... a couple thousand dollars worth in fact! We were upset...upset about the missing stuff, but more so upset that someone had came into our home uninvited! Luckily, my mom happened to see it happening since she lives beside me--and she was able to ID the vehicle and people if they could catch them. We prayed for God to help the cops catch the people...and within hours the get away car wrecked in Walkertown... one guy escaped, and they caught the other. (eventually, a few months ago, they caught the one who escaped...)

Okay, fast forward to yesterday....
I'm at work and get a familiar phone call from my mom saying someone is at my house in a yellowish truck wearing a hoodie. I know immediately its someone trying to break in. My mom seen them walking back to their truck and driving away, but couldn't tell what happen. She waits a while and walks over and can tell the door is locked still...we assumed he was going to break in but seen the sign saying our was protected by an alarm service. I called the cops to go patrol the area and look for the truck, just because even if he didn't get in my house I know he was up to something!
Then this afternoon we get home and Michael looks around the house to see if anything is missing, and we noticed they had stolen one of his boat accessories from his shop. (only worth about $250, so much better than last time but still aggravating!) Michael prayed for God to let them find the guy....Then, we call the cops to report the theft and are waiting on them to come when the detective calls.... SAME detective we dealt with last time.
He says "So, I hear you had a theft" and Michael says "Yup, and my mother in law saw him". The detective kinda laughs because its like a flash back to last year. He said "Okay, can she describe the vehicle or man to me" and Michael says "Yes. She told me he had on a black hoody and she couldn't see his face...but he was driving a yellow two tone suv with a green top" and the detective busted out laughing and said "We got him!" Apparently, the same guy had stolen a trailer from someone else....was driving down the road and somehow the trailer came unattached. There were more guys with the dude this time, standing around helping him get the trailer attached when a cop stopped them because they knew it was a stolen trailer. And since that vehicle is pretty unique, its simple to tie him to our theft.
Unfortunately he had already gotten rid of Michaels stuff, but we are just so thankful he is in jail .

Better late than never

I just realized that I forgot to post the results for my 3rd official weigh in on Monday... (oops) Before I give results, let me just tell you this seems to get easier as I go. And a really big positive, I haven't had as hard of a time going without my daily Dr Pepper as I thought.
Okay, drum roll please............... As of today my weight loss total is 6.9 lbs!
Only 11 more to go until my goal weight!
